Chargeback Representative

The Chargeback Representative is primarily responsible for processing and making decisions on various post deposit events such as chargebacks and refunds within the Interchange (MC/Visa) regulations and departmental procedures. We’re looking for an exceptional candidate who will be responsible for Chargeback monitoring and Chargeback mitigation at both the merchant and processor level.

This position is located in Waltham, MA.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze merchants’ credit card processing activities using internal and external risk monitoring tools
  • Initiate chargeback investigations to completion to ensure our merchants are compliant per Card rules and regulations, work with merchants on chargeback remediation plans
  • Oversee the BlueSnap Excessive Chargeback Management Program
  • Monitor, process and report on disputes and follow procedures accurately to take appropriate actions within strict deadlines
  • Answer and resolve calls from our merchants, issuing banks and processors
  • Track and report on aggregate level chargeback and refund activity at the merchant and processor level; Reconcile chargeback activity between BlueSnap, processors and acquiring banks
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge that relates to Post Deposit Event regulations
  • Liaise with other areas of the organization in order to provide timely resolution to merchant inquiries
  • Demonstrate exemplary team working skills by maintaining a professional, positive and supportive attitude
  • Other responsibilities as required

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a chargeback analysis role
  • Knowledge of Visa and MasterCard chargeback programs is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft suite of products, strong Excel skills are preferred
  • Experience with Oracle Business Intelligence for reporting is a plus
  • Strong customer focus; ability to effectively manage potentially difficult customer calls
  • Detail oriented; professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Effective listening and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to learn new processes and work within a fast-paced, changing environment
